This year marks the 71st anniversary of the end of World War II, and the USS KIDD Veterans Museum, along with our presenting partner the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino & Hotel, will honor the legacy of America’s “Greatest Generation” during their annual “Keep the Spirit of ‘45 Alive” event being held from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14th.
The USS KIDD was the first destroyer in America to join the National Spirit of '45 movement and their “Keep the Spirit of ‘45 Alive” event is a fitting remembrance to our WWII service members as we approach the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II on August 14, 1945.
The Belle of Baton Rouge Casino & Hotel is generously offering 300 free tickets to this unforgettable night. The Belle of Baton Rouge will offer free appetizers and provide a cash bar to all guests. We encourage guests to dress in their favorite "swing" or World War II- era attire. Rosie and the Swinging Riveters will be back again this year to help us commemorate America's Greatest Generation.
A silent auction will be hosted by the USS KIDD, and all funds raised will directly benefit the USS KIDD Veterans Museum and our educational programming. Reservations for seating are now open.
If you feel like escaping Hidden Pointe Apartments in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for the day, this event is a perfect opportunity to do just that!
